How to apply to be a Volunteer

If you have a few hours to spare and would like to help in your community, please follow the steps below and apply to become a volunteer with Council.

Application steps

Step 1.Volunteer Application Form

Please download and complete the Volunteer Application form(PDF, 112KB)

Step 2.Cover Letter

To assist with your application, you may wish to also complete a one (1) page covering letter outlining your skills and/or experience and why you would like to volunteer with Council.

Step 3.Submit

Submit your application, with your email address and phone contact number, to council@leeton.nsw.gov.au. Or deliver in person to 23-25 Chelmsford Place, Leeton NSW 2705

Our application process

  • Your Volunteer Application Form will be forwarded to Council's Community Development department.

  • They will review your application and forward to the relevant supervisor of the area(s) you have offered to volunteer for.

  • The relevant supervisor may contact you to discuss your volunteer application, explain what is involved and answer any questions from your side.

  • Volunteers will be notified in writing (either via email or letter) regarding the status of their application within approximately four (4) weeks from the date of receipt.

Please note, while every attempt will be made to accommodate volunteering requests, there may be occasions where this is not possible due to operational requirements, staffing levels or volunteer places may have reached full capacity.
