An opportunity exists for a professional and highly motivated person to fill the very important role of Survey & Design Engineer at Council.
The primary purpose of the position is to:
- Coordinate/undertake survey and design works primarily for the construction and maintenance of Roads, Drainage and Roadside furnishings, in both rural and urban environments, and to assist in the investigation of all queries regarding these matters.
- Provide project management and site engineering services on occasions.
- Support strategic services planning for the Shire.
Qualifications and Experience
- The successful applicant will possess a well-developed problem-solving ability and demonstrate their excellent interpersonal skills with the general public and fellow employees.
- A Degree in Surveying or Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and/or minimum of four (4) years' relevant experience in Local Government is essential.
- A well-developed knowledge of the design, construction and operation of civil infrastructure including roads, drainage, water and sewerage systems, utilising design package 12D or similar, together with proficiency in the use of robotic and non-robotic total stations, RTK GPS systems, levelling devices and laser equipment, including the interrogation and downloading/uploading of recorded data.
Salary and Conditions
- A salary of $81,545.88 - $101,353.20 pa plus 11.5% superannuation and applicable allowances will be offered (depending on qualifications and experience).
- A leaseback vehicle may be negotiated.
- This permanent position is 35 hours per week with a monthly rostered day off.
- Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award.
- Prior to commencement, the successful applicant will be required to undergo a Pre-employment Functional Assessment which includes an Alcohol and Other Drug Screening and a Hearing Test.
