Today marks a very exciting day for the local community. Council is eager to announce that the installation of the new demountable classroom at Leeton Early Learning Centre (LELC) has been completed with delivery and construction undertaken by Decentralised Demountables Pty Ltd. Manager Business Services Brent Lawrence said to complete the build, Council has placed a strong focus on supporting local businesses in the Shire. “We are delighted to have associated works completed by local contractors, with Ben Ashton Plumbing to carry out the plumbing works, David Dowling Electrical to complete the electrical works, and 360 Protect to undertake the fencing works. Hi-Marq Services Pty Ltd was engaged to construct the new storage shed and playground shade structures which will mark the completion of the expansion project at LELC,” said Brent Lawrence.
The addition of a new classroom will see LELC be able to take an additional 20 children per day which equates to 100 kids per week with particular focus on accommodating more kids in the 0-3 years age range to help skilled workers return to our local workforce sooner. Once the Occupation Certificate for this development is received, Council can then formally apply to the NSW Department of Education to increase the operating licence from a 68 to 88 place per day service. This approval can take up to 90 days.
Council will keep the community posted over the next couple of months as the opening of the new building approaches. ENDS.
