“In Stage 1, the community can look forward to the installation of the dethridge wheel and fountain jets as well as the commissioning of the rill and fountain. These works will complete the scope of Stage 1.

“At the same time, there are some exciting things ahead for Stage 2 and 3, including the completion of irrigation, turf, seating and concrete, painting of the heritage light poles, completion of the retaining walls for the stage area, and finally the highly anticipated Illuminart projector installation,” he said.

Cr George Weston, Portfolio lead for CBD Enhancement, acknowledged both the State and Federal Government.

"The Chelmsford Place Town Square upgrade has been made possible thanks to the support of our funders, including the Australian Government's Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program, the NSW Stronger Country Communities Fund and the NSW Public Spaces Legacy Program.

“It’s a delight following the progress of this transformative project. Once works in Stage 3 are complete, the community will be able to truly appreciate the project’s vision with the Illuminart projection being a key feature,” he said.

The Chelmsford Place Town Square upgrade is Stage 3 of the CBD Enhancement Strategy with practical completion expected in mid-2024. For the latest updates and further information on the project's developments, please visit the Leeton Shire Council website.
