Council is embarking on a refresh of the Leeton Community Strategic Plan (CSP) and is inviting members of the Leeton Shire community to participate in targeted focus groups to ensure the outlined goals and aspirations still align with current community expectations.

The Community Strategic Plan is a community document and Council’s role is to facilitate the development of the CSP on behalf of the community.

The Plan will help to set the direction, understand the goals and aspirations, and identify the community's priorities for a future Leeton Shire.

Community members interested in participating in the focus groups can fill out an Expressions of Interest (EOI) form by Sunday, 27 October 2024, accessible via https://bit.ly/LSCCSPRefreshEOIForm or obtain a hard copy from the Leeton Shire Council offices at 23-25 Chelmsford Place, Leeton, or the Leeton Shire Library. Timing and attendance will be confirmed with participants over the coming weeks.

Leeton Shire Mayor Cr George Weston said Council is seeking community input to make sure the community’s plan for the future stays relevant and targets those areas that matter most.

“The Community Strategic Plan is our focus for the future – but over time things can change, and new priorities can emerge.

“In updating of the plan, we aim to capture a range of community views so that the final document is a true reflection of what the whole community wants the Shire to be in the future,” said Mr Weston.

The focus group sessions will take place in late October/early to mid November in the leadup to the December Ordinary Council meeting which will see the DRAFT Community Strategic Plan tabled for endorsement to go out on public exhibition.
