DRAFT Leeton Development Control Plan on Public Exhibition

Published on 07 July 2022

Leeton Shire Council is inviting the community to provide comments on the DRAFT Leeton Development Control Plan (DCP) that is on public exhibition until 5pm on 31 August 2022.

The proposed DCP applies to the whole of the Leeton Shire and will guide development that is permissible under the Leeton Local Environmental Plan 2014.

Council’s Manager Planning, Building and Health Francois Van Der Berg said the DCP will be used by Council as a planning tool to assist with the assessment of Development Applications lodged with Council, to ensure growth and development occurs in a consistent, orderly and environmentally sensitive manner.

‘The DCP also allows everyone to better understand the requirements and standards that Council will apply in determining Development Applications,’ said Francois Van Der Berg.

“The information gathered during the last round engagement via the Issues paper fed into the development of the DRAFT DCP and I would like to thank all who have provided feedback so far.

“And now that we have a draft, we want to check back with the community to  make sure we’ve got it right.”

Interested community members can view Council’s DRAFT DCP on Council’s ‘Have Your Say’ online engagement portal at haveyoursay.leeton.nsw.gov.au.

Hard copies are also available for viewing at Council’s Administration Office, the Leeton Shire Major Dooley Library, the Whitton and Murrami Post Offices and the Yanco Shop.

The community is encouraged to provide feedback to Council in any of the following ways:

ELECTRONICALLY: Complete the survey on Council’s ‘Have Your Say’ online engagement portal at haveyoursay.leeton.nsw.gov.au
