About Cr Boston Edwards
First elected in 2024 at the age of 25, Cr Boston Edwards is hoping to bring a fresh and youthful perspective to Leeton Shire Council. A Gumbaynggirr man from Nambucca Heads, Boston has lived across New South Wales, including Leeton during his early childhood. After completing university, he returned to Leeton to work as a social worker for a year but fell in love with the community and lifestyle, prompting him to stay.
Cr Edwards holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wollongong. He currently works as a Law Graduate at Cater & Blumer. With previous experience in insurance, social work, and advisory roles on a national campaign and to a federal parliamentarian, he brings a wealth of diverse experience and knowledge to his role as a Councillor.
What he loves most about the Leeton community is the sense of community and enviable lifestyle.
In addition to his council duties, he is the current secretary of the Leeton Phantoms Rugby Union Club and serves as a committee member of the Leeton Show Society.
Throughout his term, Cr Edwards is committed to ensuring that Council fosters a strong local economy, advocates for farmers and local businesses, and will adopt a cautious approach to decision-making. He aims to ensure Council provides value for money to residents and ratepayers, with consideration to ratepayers’ ability to pay in light of the cost of living.
